Mount Tam

Mount Tamalpais -- "Tam" to friends -- is a beautiful mountain just outside the city, across the Golden Gate. Giant fog (surprise) but at the top it was clear, and hot. A bit of driving around with Pekka, who swung by the Midwest and dropped in at S.F. before heading back home. Nice views.

That's the Pacific, somewhere underneath all that whiteness.

Random guys on the mountaintop.

Home, seen from very, very far away.

Oh, Fog

I just remembered that I was going to put up a couple pics of the crazy fog that rolls down the hillside every afternoon. (These are from a few weeks ago.) We did have a couple of really beautiful days recently, with the fog being just a memory. But, still it's always out there. As I type this, there's a blue fog pouring down Twin Peaks -- and this is supposed to be the summer in S.F.

It doesn't mess around. The fog.

Massiv Kaka. Every day with the fog.

Road Trippin’

Since I left the working life behind (for a while) there was a chance to pack up the car and head down south with my favorite ally and hook up with friends, check out the scenery, and, yes, live through some nice weather (fuck San Francisco, like the PUSA sez.) There was Los Angeles and then all the small and weird stuff on Highway 1 like Monterey, Big Sur and Carmel. Yosemite. Armstrong Redwood State Forest (found it this time!) Beautiful and crazy.

Wood Explosion. (Amstrong Redwood State National Park Forestsaaskdaskd whatever)

Them trees grow short and benchlike here.

Wildlife!

Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a spider can!

Julia Pfeiffer Burns State National Park blah blah Fall.

Two classic shots from LA: this...

...and this.

Next up: Groveland, CA. Close to Yosemite's west entrace, but still miles away from here.

El Capitán. Con turistas.

Lower Yosemite Falls, in Yosemite Valley. Such a beautiful place but tons of fucking Italians. Gelato, pronto.

Subito, fuck.

So here are both the Lower and the Upper, Lower was with all the italians. Seen from very far.

The Valley from Glacier Point. Great place for getting rid of Japanese grandmothers.

Yes, the famous Half Dome. But it kinda looks like a face to me. No? See, eyes, nose and lips? No?
