In The Mission

In East Harlem!

Snuck out of The Mission for a little bit and headed out to New York City. Had a great Sunday, hanging out with friends in Brooklyn. I rented a bike and pedaled like hell, across the Brooklyn Bridge and back. 5th Ave, Park Ave, Central Park, Broadway--good riding. Kinda looking forward to going back to S.F., even though NY has really been my favorite city, at least until now. Also it's the city where the tagline originated (here's looking at you, Anu.)

"That's not the Brooklyn Bridge", a tourist said, with authority.

A Brooklyn Bride. Or maybe an Upper West Side Bride.

It is what it is.

Like a lot of times in NYC, you just bump into things.

Hello, My Name Is __________

SF Weekly--which I use to check who's playing in town--threw a shindig at one of the hottest shindig spots in the city, 111 Minna Gallery. This was a tech launch thingie with lots of tech types and business cards. I semi-crashed the party, which was interesting in that I got a look at SF mingling. "Eh," with a Gallic shrug. Robert Crumb prints on the walls, though.

Weekly, in a bitter fight with the Bay Area Guardian over the mastery of free weekly publications.

Graffiti on Minna. Techie cocktail types blocking the shot.

"One of your complimentary half-a-can Asahi's, please!"

Here There Be Monsters

This guy! He's on a courtyard with two of his buddies close to Mission and 2nd. Don't know what he's all about, but with a face like this, he can't be too bad.

"If I had arms, I would hug you. Or stick you in my mouth."

I know who's up for happy hour.
