Bike To Work Day
A street event in San Francisco that nobody dresses up for? Just as I was saying that they're--ah, whatever. Anyway, BTWD 2010. Big deal, you know, everybody riding bikes, boo cars, boo potholes, yay bike lanes blah blah. But they give you free coffee and swag at Energizer Stations and you can get your bike maintained, too. Nice way to start the day. Though I bike to work most every day, some peeps bit the bullet and pedaled down to the Peninsula (here's looking at you, Janne!)
How W3ird
San Francisco loves to dress up for any reason. This was some street fair thing on Howard Street (geddit? "How Weird" Street Fair?) and much reminiscent of Burning Man. The crazies flocked together, and word was they tried to break the world record for most people dancing a Bollywood choreography. Sadly, the choreography didn't look too hot, and, frankly, not really world record numbers showed up. Still, why not close off traffic for six hours in downtown S.F. on a Sunday?
Banksy
Yeah, Banksy. His work seems to be in every city, so why should San Francisco be an exception? This one's on Valencia, on Amnesia's rooftop. I hear there are six Banksy pieces in the City in various locations. I actually spotted another one on Howard, but didn't have my camera with. Dang. Expect an update at some point.
